A Life of Scholarship & Service

1952 Early Life

Born in Iraq from a prominent scholarly family, mentored by his father Grand Scholar Sheikh Abdul Ghaffar Al-Ansari.

Grew up in Amara, a multifaith and multicultural city in South Iraq; where he was actively involved in the youth affairs as well as living the interfaith coexistence.

1974 Education

Graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Baghdad University, combining secular and religious education.

Active participation in the University and social life in Baghdad within both traditional as well as interfaith and secular circles.

1975 Migration to Najaf

Joined the Najaf Seminary, excelling as student and teacher. Studied under Grand Ayatollah Khoei.

Managed the distribution of aid to widows and orphans at the Office of Grand Ayatollah Khoei, despite multiple detentions and torturing by the tyrant regime at the time in Iraq.

1980 Temporary Asylum in India

Over a few months, helped strengthen the connection and communication infrastructure between the local communities and the Marjaeya.

Return to Najaf in the same year 1980 despite all the risks to continue studies and teaching.

1991 Migration to Qom

Appointed as Grand Ayatollah Khoei envoy to the committees of the 1991 Uprising, leading to his escape from prosecution to Kuwait then Qom.

Continued advanced studies and taught at the Office of Grand Ayatollah Sistani. Attained 1st ijtihad degree in 1996.

Hawza envoy to the foreign embassies in Tehran in response to the slaughter of Scholars in Najaf

Led charity efforts, especially for Iraqi and Afghan refugees.

1993 Temporary Trip to Syria and Lebanon

Actively involved in the affairs of the local Hawzas in both countries in collaboration with local scholars. Return to Qom in the same year to continue studies and teaching.

1999 Migration to Australia

Assumed spiritual leadership of Islam under the Ahlyl Bayt banner in Australia, focusing on establishing community foundations.

Affirmation by Grand Ayatollah Sistani personally for his direct representation.

2000 Leading Ahlayl Bayt Followers

Directly influenced the efforts of advancing the communities of the followers of Ahlayl Bayt worldwide, with an emphasis on South East Asia and Australasia.

2008 Starting Annual Journeys

Annual journeys between Najaf, Qom and Australia to teach and serve, where during academic year of Hawza, he's present and active in the Hawza; while from the Month of Ramadhan to Muharram, he's present and active in Australian affairs.

2012 Started Bahth al Kharij in Qom

Started teaching Bahth Al Kharij in Qom at the Office of Grand Ayatollah Sistani.

2018 Transitioned to Najaf

Moved lessons back to Najaf, Iraq, continuing Bahth Al Kharij at Masjid Al-Sheikh Al-Adham Al-Ansari.

Full duties of an active scholar in Najaf, from mentoring students to lecturing and dispute resolutions to answering questions all the way to dealing with international affairs.
